We immediately began to investigate as a matter of urgency, and will keep you updated. This FAQ document will be updated to address questions raised. A number of FAQs and answers follow, in which OnePlus confirms that only customers who made credit card payments are affected, not those who used PayPal.

Apparently, card info isn't stored on the site but is instead sent directly to a "PCI-DSS-compliant payment processing partner" over an encrypted connection. If you choose to save your card details for later, a token that represents your card is saved, but your card details are still handled by the payment provider next time you shop.

The post also assures customers that the current fraud issues have nothing to do with the hacking of the Magento eCommerce platform. Although Magento was initially used to build Oneplus.

OnePlus will continue to investigate alongside its third-party service providers, and promises to update with its findings as soon as possible. According to infosec firm Fidus, there is actually a brief window in which data could be intercepted.

Between entering your card details into the form and hitting 'submit,' the details are apparently hosted on-site, which could give attackers all the time they need to steal those precious digits and head off on a spending spree.

Fidus also notes that the company doesn't appear to be PCI-compliant, but that directly contradicts OnePlus' own statement. We'll have to wait until more details emerge before we pass judgment.

To its credit, OnePlus has been pretty quick to react, hopefully saving other recent customers from the same fate. If any of you have been on the receiving end of this issue, do let us know in the comments.

We'll update this post when we get any further info. Y-o-u can also a-v-ail this. Almost as bad as the iSheep. Last I checked Google and Samsung aren't stealing credit card information or sending clipboard data to China.

I was talking about his "Almost as bad as the iSheep" statement. Because last I checked, Apple wasn't stealing credit card information or sending clipboard data to China. What happened with oneplus does not fit into that definition either.

So now do you see why it made sense??? It's called applying someone else's false logic to another scenario to highlight the fallacy. So does that mean it's okay to have your data stolen and sent overseas if you buy a cheaper phone?

No and that was not even remotely my conclusion. That already happens to your data, regardless of what phone you buy. But I promise, you are not that interesting and no one would go out of their way to steal your data.

This is probably an attack by a competitor. Americans just love to convince themselves that other countries are so jealous that they want to cause them harm. I was just thinking the same thing!

It's not even about being a fanboy I just don't trust them. I had that feeling since the OPO, lol! Maybe I'm just salty cuz I bought that for CynanogenMod Then they didn't support it.

Keep them out of the U. I don't think they deserve all the hate they're getting. I was an avid OnePlus hater back when that whole CyanogenMod os crap happened but they made an insanely good phone with the 5T.

Sometimes things like this happen. That's what credit card protections are for. There's a lot of misinformation out there too, like the whole clipboard thing. Seems to me they just had a bit of bad luck.

I don't hate them, but I recognize they have two huge flaws that prevent me from ever buying a phone from them again: They can easily ditch them but they didn't. They gave 2 major software updates which is pretty much same as what other companies are doing.

The front camera has increased resolution, now 16MP. Sapphire lens protection on the rear camera. To get GB storage. To own a flashship device. My answer is BIG NO, this upgrade will cost you at least 8k and you will get again the same phone with the minor upgrades that you won't even notice.

If you have any query or confused about buying this item then feel free to comment here or email me for a quicker response. By Vineet on 15 February I bought this phone from Amazon in December itself.

The phone itself is good for the money but that is where the good things end. The customer service of OnePlus is really pathetic. They don't have much service centers and where they do have it's the most unprofessional service i have experienced in my lifetime.

I have a gunmetal one of theirs, and it had a notoriusly noisy vibrating motor from the start. So naturally i wanted to have it replaced. But the service center guys refuse to acknowledge it and make me wait 2 hours before confiming the issue.

I was right there and they were busy in own work rather than examining or atleast taking a look at my device. Mind you it was afternoon and the service center had only two guys and no other customer there.

And it was a shady place too. Still haven't got the phone back so can't comment on service. They were supposed to update me today evening about the status but obviously they forgot.

I would say again that the phone is good. I won't talk about it's pros and cons as you'd get s of reviews which can go in depth more than i can. But you don't just buy the phone. You buy the service too and when you have the need for it you feel pretty underwhelmed when you are treated badly.

That's what the extra money these Apples' and Samsungs' cost you probably. For OnePlus, you lost a customer today and i'm going to preach not-so-good things about you. For a company who believes in word of mouth and no advertisments, start looking into your priorities really!

You talk really big! I had to call the service center myself and I was told they are going to downgrade the software! For a hardware issue these guys are toiling around and wasting time!

I clearly emphasised that I'm not from the city and where I live there is no one plus service center and still they are wasting time! I need the phone back by Sunday and they pay no attention to that!

Please don't blindly go by specs, looks etc. This is an unprofessional company. They won't pay heed to your problems. Being quoted days for the repair. Also would like to share that companies like Apple provide you with a loaner phone in case of manufacturer fault with your phone.

Speaking from personal experience. That is much better than having no phone! Guys thank you for taking your time to read this! I would like to update you all that i haven't recieved my phone back yet and it's been seven days.

I tired calling service center but they cut my phone Another brick in the wall. So i tried OnePlus support hoping something good but once again i was told to wait 3 more days as "They normally take days to provide repair".

Oh did i mention you can't put a complaint against bad sevice? Got the phone back on 9th day. They replaced the back cover. Vibration motor works fine now. Oh and while doing that they did a shoddy job at that.

The camera glass was dirty and had fingerprints from inside. I haven't gotten around to go there to get i cleaned. I've never seen this effect on my OP3 before, so I tried turning it upside down.

I did read one comment somewhere that said the panel on OP5 is physically mounted upside down for whatever reason. Just checked my iPhone 7 Plus and some other phones laying around in the house.

All of them scroll normal, but I do in fact get the jelly-effect when I turn them upside down. I see this on most displays if I turn them. It's like our brain got used to it one way, and now OP5's display is built in upside down.

Its because AMOLED panels update from bottom to top, and since the display is mounted upside down, oneplus compensates with a degree screen rotation through software. Basically, this means that you should be able to turn other phones upside down and see the same issue.

I really hope this can be fixed tho, my oneplus 5 is arriving on monday and i dont want this shit: That explains my Shield tablet too. The display in that was built upside down.

Always saw a weird jellyscroll but never thought about that. That is weird and neat. Turned her Pixel upside down just now, and it's squishy too. They put the screen on upside down.

I would assume so. It seems like the top of the screen is lagging compared to the bottom. But when it's flipped upside down, it looks perfect. Maybe it's a framerate difference, or Vsync issue that's playing tricks on our eyes.

Check some recent posts. Because OnePlus mounted the display upside down I don't see how the mounting would affect this, unless Qualcomm's GPUs have an issue rendering upside down.

I wonder if rendering upside down has to do with VSync turning on and off. And if so, then is is a software issue, which is exciting. Because the display refreshes starting at one end and rolling across each line of pixels all the way to the other end.

Apparently every phone display does it the same proper way and OnePlus reversed it, which is breaking the consistency our brains are used to. I don't think that's the sole reason - I also think the display panel is just not refreshing each frame fast enough - but it's certainly part of it.

Lol I just tried this on my OnePlus 2, although not that crazy that jello like effect is clearly visible on text and such. From my limited knowledge, the refresh from top to bottom is normal.

If ALL the displays were upside down, then the refresh could maybe be reversed from bottom to top. But seeing as some might be installed correctly and some upside down, reversing the refresh direction would just add the jelly effective to the screens installed the right way around.

There would have to be a way to find out which phones have the screen in which direction, and have different t software based on the orientation. My guess is that if screen orientation is the issue, they'll fix the production mistake, and say nothing.

Those who RMA will be given a new phone without the problem, and others won't notice or care about the issue. I would assume all of them have flipped screens, considering the widespread issues.

Even some review sites noticed the lag. But you're right, I doubt they'll say anything about this issue. No matter how it goes down, the winner is OnePlus and anyone who buys a fixed model if they ever fix the issue on new phones.

I'm sure if we RMA we'll get remanufactured devices too: Switching on and off makes the problem feel very inconsistent. Im not sure if this is the problem though. That appears to occur when nothing on the screen is animating i.

It's happening for me also. I noticed pretty much immediately that something felt "off" when scrolling, just couldn't put my finger on what it was. I'm not actually sure what the issue is?

Could you describe what it would look like normally, because I don't have any issues on my device or maybe just don't notice them. Never had this before on any p.

Basicly when you scroll everything looks zoomed out zoomed in for a small time frame. Not sure if software problem or not. Ok, couldn't see it at all in the OP gfycat link, but it looks bad here in this link.

For what it's worth, I got mine on Friday and I haven't seen anything like that on mine. I got version and don't have any of those issues. Maybe it's only in gb? I guess I notice but I have to actually pay attention to it.

Seems like it's more of an issue that you don't actually care about until you're made aware of it. Or you are not experiencing it on your device. I have the jelly scrolling, but don't find it noticable.

Only time I can really see it is scrolling fast up and down. Should it be looked into and fixed? But I don't mind it and don't find it a big deal. Though perhaps severity of it varies, and I just don't have it very bad.

I'm holding off buying until this is fixed: I also have this issue. Very frustrating, its not horrible but it is happening nonetheless. Sure hope the devs acknowledge this. If what you're saying about bein able to capture it with AZ screen recorder, then that is actually pretty good news.

It most likely means that this is an software-issue, and not a physical issue with the display itself, alas, that it can be patched if OnePlus actually care tho. If it's captured in a screen recorder, and replayed on the same screen, the issue will show on the recording too.

If it's played on another display, I don't think the issue would show. I might try it later. I tried to look at it that way, but it doesn't look good when images and elements on the page stretch like that Plus the text in iMessage isn't actually stretching out - only the bubbles are moving like that.

I've seen this on every.

Some have called it “jelly-like” scrolling. Others, like Damir Franc on YouTube, more accurately classified it as a “strobing effect.” Whatever the name, the fact is some OnePlus 5 devices have exhibited some pretty odd behavior while scrolling, the likes of which are off-putting for a phone with such a high-end processor and RAM spec.

OnePlus 2 however is a different story and there they fucked up big time. So I'm not defending them but bad press shouldn't be thrown around like toys.

You guys are idiot Ever hear of Sony!? Or a big Bank themselves, Chase? Anyone can get hacked and information stolen. They aren't doing it purposefully dumbies. Sorry if this was there first problem maybe, but they have been caught pulling user data without asking multiple times and now this.

You would have to be pretty dumb to continue trusting them. But still not close to what Google does and yes I use "some" of their software myself but at least I stay away from "google search", Chrome and Gmail.

Not like credit cards havent' been hijacked in millions on different sites and it's quite seldom the actual sites fault. I got hit by the fraud, and I didn't even like the phone and returned it.

So I am not a "fanboy. Someone intentionally hacked them. That's who you should be mad at, not OnePlus. Do you honestly think OnePlus wanted this to happen?

It hurts them a lot more than the customers who were hit, because the iPoor and iStupid you will blame them and they will go out of business if they can't be trusted. That's what you get for using open source shopping carts.

Especially Magento, that thing is so insecure. Odds are they never updated it. You can't trust these Chinkerbell companies. Just like the spyware garbage. All in cahoots with the Chinese government!

Do you know if debit and credit cards have been affected the same? There is no mention of debit cards on the article. People often use the term "credit card" as a "plastic card used for payments".

There really is no difference between those two apart that the money is yours on debit card as opposed to borrowed money on the credit card. Don't know why you people keep on supporting this company when they are doing thing as things.

As well as terrible support. There's a reason as to why OnePlus' devices are cheaper than flagships not by much now with their latest device. They want as many of their devices into consumers hands.

It's kind of like the Google approach where Google offers their services for free in exchange for ur data. Only difference here is that Google is more trusted with personal data than OnePlus giving ur data to the Chinese government in exchange for affordably cheap hardware with shit software filled with malware.

Where's the story when this happens with Apple? I just had this happen over the Holidays. This stuff is rampant across all these online stores. I own a OnePlus 5 and I'm happy with the phone, the build quality is great and to be honest I haven't had any issues yep I probably have bad eyes as I can't see the jelly effect haha Sure, they have had many problems in the past, but this isn't their direct fault.

I find it hilarious. Always people that have never owned a OnePlus product in their life! As a Cowboys fan, I'm reminded of the sheer unjust, stupid, random hate that everyone has for the Cowboys, for OnePlus!
