I have this feature enabled, but I still prefer to just unlock the phone with a fingerprint. The OnePlus 5T looks and feels like a more expensive phone than it is. The aluminum unibody design is understated and inoffensive, and I'm pleased OP is sticking with the headphone jack.

We have a street and leaves that looks to be in his yard and photos of things on his desk. It wouldn't be that hard to take some big buildings, Sunsets, street lights for low light samples, Pets, etc.

Any chance you also have experience on LG phones? I'm currently on the V20 and the performance leaves a lot to be desired. I ruled out Pixel because I'm just not willing to pay that much for so little other than quick performance and updates, it's kind of bland IMO.
I'm almost certain I'll get the OP5T, but LG packages their phones so nicely and the V30 is looking good especially that wide angle lens. I'd just hate to fall into that LG trap yet again and then be disappointed six months when performance takes a noticeable hit.
Of course the speed and fluidity difference is big but the A1 does seem to keep more apps in memory medium to light apps at least. I don't get why they keep changing things for the sake of it.
I wouldn't say this phone is pricier than its predecessor. It actually ends up being a better deal than the OP5 itself. I'm buying one, even if not for me, this time. As for the fingerprint sensor placement, I prefer it on the back.
My index finger always rests naturally at that place so as I take the phone to my hand from my desk or out of my pocket, I unlock it without further movement.
But at the end I believe it's a matter of personal taste. I really like the possibility to unlock it directly while laying flat on a table or a desk without having to grab it.
I don't complain on the specific matter because I use Google's Smart Lock features and when - for example - I'm at home, I don't need to raise the phone to unlock it.
There will still be phones that put the scanner on the back after they're able to put it under the screen and it will be because of preference, not cost. I've had both and they're both equally as useful to me, which seems to be a rare stance as much as I see people split on this preference.
Under the screen makes sense, but placing it on the front just because when you're using on-screen buttons see some Motos and Huaweis seems space-wasting and an eyesore. These add up, and could eventually put OP in direct competition with the likes of Google and Samsung.

It isn't like you;re missing any big features. We've yet to see any indication that Project Treble will result in faster updates from those companies that already don't care about updating their product past one version - this is unlikely to change once they do roll-out their first Oreo-at-launch device.
Just because something is made a little easier doesn't mean some manufacturers are going to make changes - for example, Blu will likely continue to almost never update their devices once they've hit Oreo, and OnePlus will probably still only provide one major update before EOLing their devices.

I would suggest you read the rest of the review. Specifically, the last section where I address that. If anything, the Price should be in the "good" category. Because companies like Samsung and Apple are in a completely different league.

It isn't like you;re missing any big features. We've yet to see any indication that Project Treble will result in faster updates from those companies that already don't care about updating their product past one version - this is unlikely to change once they do roll-out their first Oreo-at-launch device.
Just because something is made a little easier doesn't mean some manufacturers are going to make changes - for example, Blu will likely continue to almost never update their devices once they've hit Oreo, and OnePlus will probably still only provide one major update before EOLing their devices.

Oneplus needs to hire some real camera software programmers and let them pick the sensors, pixel size, apertures, etc. The secondary lens is kind of a bad choice if it only kicks in at 10 lux which is pretty dark.

I repaired an easily repairable phone once and it still cost me more than just to sell it in the broken state for parts or someone thinking he is cleverer than me And that's what the warranty is for.
The most common one for me is replacing the battery. Batteries have X number of charge cycles? If it's something I can do myself that's not too hard, I'll do it rather than have to send it back to the manufacturer and wait for the phone to come back.
It's a lot cheaper than having someone fix it. OEM parts are usually easily available on ebay, and there are lots of videos on how to fix phones. Usually it's not worth it for me to pay for the extra kind of warranty where they will fix stuff I break.
The idea of having my phone frozen and made brittle to get it apart just creeps me out. They didn't need to design it like that, it really take some work to get a 1 for a repair score.
It's sort of like the same way they worked on the camera and software for the Essential, they just didn't take their time and design both well. I guess the camera problems are better now, but it's kind of late in terms of market perception maybe.

This phone does not have Oreo and it should, Oneplus did this so that way they don't have to support Project Treble. If this phone ever gets Oreo, that version will not have Treble either. Starting to see this with phone mfrs and it's getting really obnoxious.
If I buy new phones they have to have Oreo, or the mfr has the state that they will support Project Treble on any Oreo upgrade for that phone. Oneplus has had years to work on this issue and they never get it right.
I was an owner of the original Oneplus One, and loved it but it had that same exact flaw. Wasn't a big deal for me at the time, but since my camera on my phone is my main camera it's become more important for indoor shots not to suck.

The facts that OP 5T has perfcet camera at low light. Interesting that there was no low light photography in that video which is where the OP 5T has the most trouble. Any decent Android phone should have no problems with the kind of light that was present in all of those situations.

Only Huawei can take perfect photo I'm talking Chinese smartphones. Few calls, few emails, seconds of gaming at a time. Expect to see over 22hr period or so 5hrs SOT under heavy usage, 6hrs under light, and 4hrs over a day and a half with light usage.
With the right update to the camera software those 2 cameras can be used to take parallax effect photos. This will give you that nice 3D effect on the photo when you move the phone in your hand.

In India, they didn't change the price.. I am happy they have 2nd sensor to improve low light shots. Mate 10 Pro might not launch and Pixel XL had insane price and the reported display issues, only option left out is this one.
I disagree with the fingerprint sensor location on the back for my use. Having the fingerprint sensor on the back does me no good unless I keep it upside down. Pulling the phone out a pocket, yes, the back is a better location.
