Unfortunately for you, at any given time I can connect my pair of Quietcomfort 35 and enjoy wireless sound it's from BOSE, but I doubt you are able to afford them, but when running I prefer my Jaybird X3s.

So don't even try to play the "I'm too evolved cuz ya know I use only wirelezz", because I doubt you can afford it. And I find it astoundingly pathetic for someone to use a dongle for wired audio - if you are THAT stupid, troll, I feel for you.

Just go out and buy and iPhone as it seems to far better fit your Hmmm I've never noticed any red screen, glares or non functioning button mine remaps to GNow: Anywho, I run a user mdm and samsungs by far have the most issues.

The same statistics can be used on basically anything they manufacture, tv's, appliances, you name it. Anyways, you sound like the pathetic troll at this point, but I guess thats what samsung pays you for.

Defending them any chance you get. Oh, sorry, just took a look at your entire posting history. A troll feigning some kind of expertise which you clearly and comically lack and a rather intense case of buyer's remorse.

Sweet Lord little child, if you got burned by your U11 don't come to the Internet raging, just deal with how you lost your hard earned money and move on. Feeble minds are prone to mistakes.

Peace and welcome to my personal spammers list! You're kinda weird leo.. I don't think anyones gotten burned by a u Its the best device on the market. To each their own, I love my S8.

Not being able to remap a button I don't use doesn't bother me in the least. I would love to hear what amazing phone you are using though. Currently using a g6 and a U The s8 is in a drawer where it belongs.

Who said I don't use it? I happen to use it at least once or twice a day. I would definitely take the S8 over the G6 and would probably take it over the U11 as well, again, my personal opinion. Can Tasker also close an app?

Maybe with the Root Helper? Is that still a thing? Been a while since I tinkered with Tasker. Matter of fact, can Tasker recognize accelerometer movement? Can you make a non-Motorola phone do the Motorola gestures double twist for camera, karate chop for torch?

I don't think so but it's worth asking. Tasker was one app I was proud to pay for even though it looked like trash, the other being Titanium Backup. Man, those were the days.

Not knocking either of them! They were great apps, just ugly as all hell. And yeah you can use get Motorola gestures using tasker profiles but it isn't that reliable. You can change the sensitivity but it isn't as accurate as the motorola phones.

You can try this app though. I found a work around I went ahead and bought the app because of that Latest news Oreo 8. Hottest Hottest Latest Comments. Tags bixby bixby button bixby remapping bxactions galaxy s8 remap Samsung T-Mobile subscribe.

Or just use Adhell, which doesn't require a second app to disable apps. Package Disabler Pro works just fine. There's always - something - Samsung has to mess up. I saw what you submitted You can actually delete.

Never happens for me. Even Pixel might not get updates after 2 years. I wonder why my daughter's carrier branded S6 just got updated to Nougat. Save for the button, the bootloader, and price.

BK disabler is a must have for this phone. Orlando aka Pixel XL. I got it, best investment pro.. How the heck do you post gifs and pics in these forums? Miku is Best Vocaloid. You click on the little picture icon while writing your comment.

It's far better than why Pixel or Nexus phone I had. Frankly, there is just no comparison. You must be new to Samsung devices. As long as package disablers continue to work everything is alright.

By the way, the Samsung photo app is fantastic and so is the dialer, so I didn't replace those. I thought you couldn't disable Bixby, or at least not without root? It really shines in mundane tasks like changing very specific settings.

Samsung is that you? I had done the same thing and this is the best option I've found for now. Just remapped to the flashlight. Works great using Bixbye. Just disable anything with "Bixby" in its package name and you will have an inert button.

Isn't it possible to block them all in normal way, via the "manage apps" screen? Last time I tried that, the disable button was greyed out. What if you use adb command via the PC? Or you can use AdHell for this name without spending money.

Not saying it's better, just adding the option to the list. I think you're not alone, but you might be alone among the nerds that frequent tech blogs. Samsung chose the wrong answer, and now customers are pissed, nobody wins.

It's all about principle, man. It's crap for many reasons. An unusable extra physical button is mere icing on the cake. It's ok, show us on the doll where Bixby touched you You can decide to disable it.

Apps exist for the reason of doing something that is not native on your device. How are you liking king the jelly phone? It's gonna be ok. I was mocking the posters on here who keep whining and moaning over this.

It was meant to compete with Siri lol. Here is an idea Dump bixby. It sounds like it's just T-Mobile related and not Samsung with the remapper being blocked. Why would T-Mobile care about people remapping the Bixby button?

If anything, they'd make it so the Bixby button could only be remapped to T-Mobile's own apps. Very lame ass move, Samsung. Samsung, why not do this. No need to mess with Accessibility Services.

I use Bixby everyday. Once you get to use its app function and you get comfortable with it. It is pretty awesome. And people wonder why we root our phones. You don't have to root. Do we have a ad-blocking app for non rooted, non-Samsung phone?

This works Yandex browser and Samsung browsers only. I am asking about in-app ads. You are referring to the Play Store content blocker. Give it up, Samsung. Bixby is not going to be a thing.

But now it's a sunk cost, so they have to try to support it. Pretty apple move from samsung. They always gonna bypass it. I'm not sure why Samsung want to play this game.

What is Google Feed? Best one drop of super glue I've ever used. If you think that silly button makes it the worst phone, you are fucking nuts. Thanks Tim, worked it out with a package disabler.

The Snapdragon currently isn't rootable, but yes, for the Exynos version that works perfectly. You don't need either of those to disable the button completely. Trying all of them is nice if one can afford it, I suppose.

It is easy to disable the button with a package disabler. Rage in pieace as your words are masked by an aseptic "user is blocked": Interesting the things they will put resources into every month.

Lenovo entered the smartphone market in and quickly became the largest vendor of smartphones in Mainland China. Lenovo passed Apple to become the No. The companies said in a statement that they would establish a new company called Lenovo NEC Holdings, to be registered in the Netherlands.

Lenovo has a five-year option to expand its stake in the joint venture. This joint venture was intended to boost Lenovo's worldwide sales by expanding its presence in Japan, a key market for personal computers.

NEC spun off its personal computer business into the joint venture. Lenovo and NEC also agreed to explore cooperating in other areas such as servers and tablet computers. Roderick Lappin, chairman of the Lenovo-NEC joint venture, told the press that the two companies will expand their co-operation to include the development of tablet computers.

These included over 3, patent families in countries around the world. The purchase included standards-essential patents for 3G and LTE cellular technologies and other patents related to smartphones and tablets.

In June, Lenovo announced that it planned to acquire control of Medion, a German electronics manufacturing company. Lenovo said the acquisition would double its share of the German computer market, making it the third-largest vendor by sales after Acer and Hewlett-Packard.

The deal, which closed in the third quarter of the same year, was the first in which a Chinese company acquired a well-known German company. Gerd Brachmann, chairman of Medion, agreed to sell two-thirds of his 60 percent stake in the company.

He will be paid in cash for 80 percent of the shares and will receive 20 percent in Lenovo stock. That would give him about one percent of Lenovo. An additional payment of million reals was made dependent upon performance benchmarks.

Lenovo cited their desire to take advantage of increased sales due to the World Cup that would be hosted by Brazil and the Summer Olympics and CCE's reputation for quality. In September, Lenovo agreed to acquire the United States-based software company Stoneware, in its first software acquisition.

The transaction was expected to close by the end of ; no financial details have been disclosed. More specifically, Stoneware was acquired to further Lenovo's efforts to improve and expand its cloud-computing services.

LenovoEMC's products were formerly offered under the Iomega brand name. LenovoEMC's products are designed for small and medium-sized businesses that do not have the budgets for enterprise-class data storage.

LenovoEMC is part of a broader partnership between the two companies announced in August Lenovo is expected to benefit from the relatively high profit margins of the NAS market. As of February, Google owns about 5.

Lenovo also got the future Motorola Mobility product roadmap. Lenovo has stated that Motorola was purchased in large part due to its long-standing relationships with cellular network operators in the United States and the United Kingdom.

Lenovo previously had difficulty breaking into the United Kingdom due to the high proportion of customers who sign contracts and receive phones from carriers. A Lenovo executive said, "There are lots of reasons why we bought Motorola but primarily because it has a history of distribution in the UK.

Motorola has long and established relationships with routes to market in North America and the UK, where people are tied to their network operator. Lenovo received approval from the European Union for its acquisition of Motorola in June In a statement the European Union said, "The Commission concluded that the proposed acquisition would not raise competition concerns in relation to smart mobile devices smartphones and tablets, given the limited market position of the parties and the presence of other strong suppliers in the market.

The acquisition was completed on 30 October Motorola Mobility will remain headquartered in Chicago, and continue to use the Motorola brand, but Liu Jun—president of Lenovo's mobile device business, became the company's leader.

The Chinese name simplified Chinese: It can also imply creativity. In, Yang Yuanqing decided to abandon the Legend brand name to expand internationally. In April, the company publicly announced its new name, "Lenovo", with an advertising campaign including huge billboards and primetime television ads.

In February, Lenovo became the subject of controversy for having bundled software identified as malware on some of its laptops. The software, Superfish Visual Discovery, is a web browser add-on that injects price comparison advertising into search engine results pages.

To intercept HTTPS - encrypted communications, the software also installed a self-signed digital certificate. The head of Superfish responded to security concerns by saying the vulnerability was "inadvertently" introduced by Komodia, which built the application.

From October through June, the UEFI firmware on certain Lenovo models had contained software known as "Lenovo Service Engine," which Lenovo says automatically sent non-identifiable system information to Lenovo the first time Windows is connected to the internet, and on laptops, automatically installs the Lenovo OneKey Optimizer program software considered to be bloatware as well.

This process occurs even on clean installations of Windows. It was found that this program had been automatically installed using a new feature in Windows 8 , Windows Platform Binary Table, which allows executable files to be stored within UEFI firmware for execution on startup, and is meant to "allow critical software to persist even when the operating system has changed or been reinstalled in a 'clean' configuration"; specifically, anti-theft security software.

The software was discontinued after it was found that aspects of the software had security vulnerabilities, and did not comply with revised guidelines for appropriate usage of WPBT.

At a third time in, criticism arose that Lenovo might have installed software that looked suspicious on their commercial Think-PC lines. This was discovered by Computerworld writer Michael Horowitz, who had purchased several Think systems with the Customer Feedback program installed, which seemed to log usage data and metrics.

Horowitz also criticized other media for quoting his original article and saying that Lenovo preinstalled spyware, as he himself never used that term in this case and he also said that he does not consider the software he found to be spyware.

As of June, a Duo Labs report stated that Lenovo was still installing bloatware, some of which leads to security vulnerabilities as soon as the user turns on their new PC.

Lenovo expanded significantly in through its acquisition of IBM 's personal computer business, including its ThinkPad and ThinkCentre lines. The ThinkPad is a line of business-oriented laptop computers known for their boxy black design, modeled after a traditional Japanese lunchbox.

Some examples of this include: M55e series, A50 series, M72 series. These "budget" lines are typically "thin clients" however. Lenovo ThinkStations are workstations designed for high-end computing.

High-end monitors are marketed under the ThinkVision name. Lenovo also announced another inch 4K touch-enabled device running Android that can function as an all-in-one PC or an external display for other devices.

The X24 includes a wireless charging base for mobile phones. Both monitors have HDMI 2. Both displays have dual-array microphones and 3-watt stereo speakers.

The IdeaPad line of consumer-oriented laptop computers was introduced in January The IdeaPad's design language differs markedly from the ThinkPad and has a more consumer-focused look and feel.

On September 21, , Lenovo confirmed that their Yoga series is not meant to be compatible with Linux operating systems, that they know it is impossible to install Linux on some models, and that it is not supported.

All IdeaCentres are all-in-one machines, combining processor and monitor into a single unit. In, Lenovo added a table computer to the IdeaCentre line. Thanks to its use of Windows 8, the Horizon can also serve as a desktop computer when set upright.

As of January, Lenovo only manufactured phones that use the Android operating system from Google. Numerous press reports indicated that Lenovo planned to release a phone running Windows Phone 8 , According to J.

Howard, a vice president at Lenovo's mobile division, the company would release a Windows Phone product if there is market demand. Lenovo has implemented an aggressive strategy to replace Samsung Electronics as Mainland China market's top smartphone vendor.

Data from Analysys International shows that Lenovo experienced considerable growth in smartphone sales in China during Specifically, it saw its market share increase to IDC analysts said that Lenovo's success is due to its "aggressive ramping-up and improvements in channel partnerships.

Lenovo has the confidence to outperform Samsung and Apple, at least in the Chinese market. However, its attempt was reportedly blocked by the Government of Canada, citing security concerns due to the use of BlackBerry devices by prominent members of the government.

An official stated that "we have been pretty consistent that the message is Canada is open to foreign investment and investment from China in particular but not at the cost of compromising national security".

Lenovo plus Motorola was the 3rd largest producer of smartphones by volume in the world between and In the reorganization which followed, Lenovo was uncertain how to brand its Motorola smartphones.

In November, Lenovo said it would soon unveil a smart television product called LeTV, expected for release in the first quarter of In the future, users will have many smart devices and will desire an integrated experience of hardware, software and cloud services.

In March, Lenovo announced that it projected smart television sales surpassing one million units for Rumors that Lenovo was developing a wearable device were confirmed in October after the company submitted a regulatory finding to the Federal Communications Commission.

The device, branded a "Smartband," has a battery life of seven days. It has an optical heart-rate monitor and can be used to track distance and time spent running and calories burned.

It can also notify the user of incoming calls and texts. The Smartband went on sale in October Lenovo started offering the device for sale on its website without a formal product announcement. REACHit is a storage management application.

It is designed to help users access, organize, and search files across multiple devices and operating systems. REACHit extends the search capabilities of Cortana, giving it access to a much wider range of files, including those stored in Google Drive, Dropbox, and Microsoft's own OneDrive as described above, in addition to implementing searches across multiple devices and making them context sensitive.

WRITEit works with almost all applications and online forms that accept text input. It includes an anti-theft system that locks the device when someone tries to change the SIM card, making the phone unusable without a password.

It also speeds up devices by ensuring that duplicate background processes do not run and keeping the cache clean. SYNCit backs up call logs and contact information. It allows shooting panoramas, low-light scenes, photo editing, and creating animated GIFs.

It uses image recognition software to automatically sort photos into folder. This app also lets users edit photos with filters and effects. This service works across devices, networks, and international borders in China, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

Lenovo Connect eliminates the need to buy new SIM cards when crossing borders. Lenovo's manufacturing operations are a departure from the usual industry practice of outsourcing to contract manufacturers.

Lenovo instead focuses on vertical integration in order to avoid excessive reliance on original equipment manufacturers and to keep down costs. The speed of innovation is very fast, so you must know how to keep up with the pace, control inventory, to match supply with demand and handle very fast turnover.

Lenovo Chief Technology Officer George He said that vertical integration is having an important role in product development. He stated, "If you look at the industry trends, most innovations for" PCs, smartphones, tablets and smart TVs are related to innovation of key components—display, battery and storage.

Differentiation of key parts is so important. So we started investing more Lenovo responded by reducing the number of KPIs from to 5, offering intensive training to managers, and working to create a global Lenovo culture.

Lenovo also doubled-down on vertical integration and manufacturing near target markets in order to cut costs at time when its competitors were making increased use of outsourcing off-shoring.

By, Lenovo ranked 20th on Gartner's list of top 50 supply chains, whereas in the company was unranked. In, Lenovo partially moved production of its ThinkPad line of computers to Japan. Some people have said we are a state-owned enterprise. A week after Facebook threatened the newspaper with legal action about the story exposing Cambridge Analytica's use of Facebook data. This article on Facebook's full-page newspaper apology ads for the CambridgeAnalytica catasrophe includes a decent snapshot of that astonishing week we just had.

So the best thing about the Cambridge Analytica scandal is that some newspapers are getting much-needed ad revenue. If only this was meant to reach users. The main purpose of the ad is to calm the bankers.

I don't understand the take that this is bad for FB. This was a gift. Facebook's platform reaches more than these papers do. Strikes me this as is more about making a statement to journalists than it is to Facebook users.

See, i knew Facebook would come around on paying media companies to sustain quality journalism http: Also this is NOT protecting your privacy. To do that, they need to stop collecting the data to begin with.

Letting Facebook buy Instagram and Whatsapp is going to go down as one of the biggest policy blunders of early 21st Century tech policy. Letting Google buy YouTube was probably a bad idea too.

Here's why regulation of Facebook needs to prioritize competition: Complicated regulatory compliance could deter startups from competing with Facebook when the toothless DeleteFacebook campaign shows we need alternatives.

You are just being selective with your criticism. I don't think so. Samsung has been actively trying to combat PDP, just as they have with bx actions. How do you not see that as a hack then?

With a third party camera, Samsung has always allowed the user to run different camera apps alongside its own. No hack was needed to circumvent Samsung's intended behavior. If, however, Samsung didn't allow third party cameras, and one came out that defeats Samsung's block, I would also consider that a hack.

And that app will likely always need to be patched because Samsung will be trying to patch the vulnerabilities the app depends on to circumvent the block.

It has worked just fine for years. As long as it an easy install from the app store, it isn't a hack. If it ever stops working, I will switch to an iPhone. No other Android phone will do.

The amount of times I've pressed Bixby meaning to press volume down. Samsung should treat it like the button on the Active variants and let the user customise it. Treat it as a feature Samsung!

This is why I bought oneplus 5. I'm so tired of Samsung. The hardware is perfect but the software is crappy except for security updates. OnePlus is another story. For example, their new OnePlus 5 got screen panel inserted upside down, and has vertical scroll animation upside down, and they keep saying it's "by design".

So I'm not sure if OnePlus is much better. I'm not a fan of Samsung or OnePlus. This jelly scrolling is ridiculous. Everybody's saying that it's a big issue. In real life most of user including me never noticed this scrolling bug.

This is definitely a non issue. Guess I'll upgrade when Pixel offers me something that my samsung-purged S6 doesn't already have. Bixby was not meant to compete with google now but rather activate phone features with your voice.

We're not really sure what it is supposed to do, seems like it's gonna be a couple years before it's ready. I really like Bixby. Despite what others may feel, it's very different from Google Assistant and does a lot that Google doesn't.

It's still in its infancy but works very well so far. I'm pretty happy with it. This is what I am referring to. You can disable functionality of the button with the many package disabling apps available.

Saying you can't disable it is kinda misleading. Honestly I think Siri is not the "thing" people think it is. I have an iPhone 6s, and I never use it — except to ask it to divide by zero.

Next time you're in a Best Buy or any place that has active iPhones, ask it to divide by zero. Turn the volume up first. There are probably other jokes, but that's the one I know.

Google Now never really was a thing They can both get you some basic information. Siri just goes to Google when it doesn't have the information on hand. Google has done some pretty cool data mining of MediaWiki Wikipedia, Wikia, and others sites to get some trivial information.

Like, for the hell of it, I asked Google Now a Skyrim related question and it answered it, pulling from the Skyrim wiki on Wikia. But really, until we have computers you can carry on a conversation with like on Star Trek: The Next Generation and Voyager, or computers that can make you fall in love with them as creepy as it sounds, they're just passing the Turing test like in Her or Ex Machina I'll just type my searches, TYVM.

I'm so angry that I can't remap that extra button, I'm going to buy a phone that doesn't have one. Developer of BixBye App here. Working on a workaround, any volunteers to test new builds would be much appreciated.

Talking about achilles heel A perfect example of Samsung reducing the value of their great hardware with their amature level software. Imagine how the industry and users would rejoice if they'd just abandon this bixby nightmare and assign the button to Google Assistant from one day to the next.

At least in the non-korean versions Most retarded move ever, if see that your users want are remapping the button with 3rd party apps is because they want an option for that, just make it natively and promote it as a feature!

I have been using Adguard to block ads, and Package Disabler Pro to disable crapware. Well, I just tried out Adhell, and it works great, and replaces both apps. They demand the same price as Apple but has broken features, slow to update, load up on bloatware, lacks customer service, no store I can easily walk into for service, too many variants to easily find custom service online for me to tinker with.

I'll stick with my Nexus till updates no longer issues, then either hop to iPhone or hope the next Pixel is leagues better! Just try it out, Got the June Security patch and it disabled bxActions after the app updated I went through the setup and voila Samsung, S8 is the worst flagship phone you ever made.

That Bixby disaster is one of the main reasons. And if tech bloggers weren't chickens, they'd tell you what you already know watching with tears how bad this piece of crap is selling. Bixby is absolute pile of ballsacks.

You can disable the button without a silly custom ROM. There are package disablers in the app store, no root required. I'm feeling bad for you guys. And i'm happy we don't have that Carrier lock bulkshit in the Netherlands.

Great hardware but they're damn persistent in their absolute hatred for developers or the modding community. That was until I found out how difficult it is to do anything with it. I'll wait or choose another phone but I really wish Samsung would just wise up.

Because heaven forbid we have something as useful as a remappable button on the side that can open any app. No, we have to use Samsung's duplications of Google stuff or nothing.

It's really an amazing phone, and this is the only stupid thing that annoys me! Even if I disabled it by disable package Pro, now I have just an useless button: Against my best judgement I went through the Bixby setup last night.

I plan on kiling it with package disabler but seeing if there is a way to not have it even set up as well. Its already reading all of my info, pulling in watched youtube videos, etc All this wouldn't be half as bad if the damn thing actually worked.

But it can't even do all it's supposed to do in English, never even mind all the other languages - as such, Samsung should get off its high horse and provide first party support in the phone's own settings to remap that stupid button.

This attitude for a broken-everywhere-except-Korea feature just stinks. All Android OEMs put their home country first. But the alternative treats everyone everywhere equally even Americans on Verizon, but that's Apple and they use another OS and they're "the enemy.

I'm not saying switch, but people got to demand better. At the very least, Pixel Ultimately, you have to decide what's important that you'll take a stand on, and what you'll just complain about on the Internet.

That's why I'm trying all of them. Looking at all sides. As far as I'm concerned, the "US first, second, and third" attitude isn't any better either, and that's just as common. Little bit tired of all the "great inventions" showing up, only to find out that well it doesn't matter because it'll be "US-exclusive" for too many years anyway.

I know there's not much that can be done about it though with certain companies like Google being as global as they are Not to say I'm all that keen on any of these "digital assistants", but they are one rather obvious example.

As crappy as the Android tablet market is sorry! I wish it weren't so! But since the Nexus 7, and the nVidia Shield, K1 I think it is, or, there really haven't been any great ones.

Correct me if I'm wrong. I guess if you like digital assistants, Siri might have more value than I grant it. I'm just a bit cynical with all of them. None of them float my boat.

I'm eager for one to, and was a little excited for Bixby, and I still think there's a possibility for potential there, but the launch has just been a disaster.

As for the first part of your post, I agree. Being an American, things coming here and not elsewhere doesn't do me any extra good. Region locking and pricing is stupid and just doesn't make sense in the 21st century.

Feel sorry for all the turds using s8's, but then again I don't. You made the poor choices to get where you are. It is a superb phone, with the Bixby button just a hindrance talented devs will rectify in short order.

No need to rage over a phone you don't like, or you were unable to acquire. Good luck with that U11 when trying to connect a pair of earbuds. Devs won't do squat for a samsung device.

Theres a dongle if i was really trying to connect wired headphones. As if this was and I lived somewhere I had to use headphones. It isn't, and I don't. Enjoy your non functioning button.

If it's an attempt to troll, rest assured that you are doing a rather pathetic job. I've seen far better.

Funny way of saying they are both useless. Total dick move though.. Package disabler pro works again with an add-on app that's in the store.

You'd think Facebook would have at least hashed the phone numbers from contacts. But I'm lost why they need call duration and call logs Facebook is in a privileged position because it has deals with most OEMs to pre-install its apps as system files, which get around retroactive changes to permissions.

In other words, Facebook found a way to continue siphoning data even after the rules changed to prevent it. Another one from Facebook that doesn't add up: Blame Google for its lazy permissions models prior to It's worth excoriating them for not taking privacy violations more seriously.

But definitely impugn Facebook for siphoning every possible bit of data until the day it was caught. Android was one of many easy avenues.
