Well seeing as a huge chunk of day one reviewers all mentioned it, and there's been a flood of users also seeing it -- even returning their devices because they couldn't stand -- I would say it's pretty prevalent. I contacted One Plus again since there was no way to directly contact the repair center.

I'd have to imagine whatever version it ships with will have the option, pretty sure most They are ready to reply to a hundred emails to say No and not listen to the customer and fix their phone under warranty. The blue tint is also only one of the problems: One phone but an outstanding per year, would be a lot more better and a lot more worthy to everyone instead of 2 models per year. No real sense of customer service at … No real sense of customer service at all.

Goodbye, bezels. Hello, gorgeous new 6-inch Samsung OLED display

I have a s8 that's how I know I don't like them compared to previous phones I owned that had physical keys plus front fp. They disappear when not needed, such as full screen video or games. I was given irrelevant and incorrect information from support people who clearly knew little to nothing about smart phones. Something seemingly very simple turned into a similarly frustrating experience that took two weeks of dealing with One Plus to actually accomplish.

14.02.2018 - I have used many other brands for years, such as Apple and Huawei, but these brands don't have what it takes. For example, it's nice to have some navigation available when in a full screen app without having to first slide a menu up. My 3t had broken and I had called Oneplus for 2 weeks every single day but they have given me the same damn reply to wait 24 to 48 hours for the company Acer to send me an email to send the shipping instructions to send it back to Oneplus. Which I would have prefered to be a hardware feature.

24.02.2018 - Something seemingly very simple turned into a similarly frustrating experience that took two weeks of dealing with One Plus to actually accomplish. Bezel-less phones are turning phone use into a game of Twister. Really happy with the phone. Are you pissed that you can't see the top edge of the next reddit post? I got an email two days later saying they can't waive the shipping fee and pointed to the privacy link I mentioned above. Submit a new post.

13.02.2018 - Become a Redditor and subscribe to one of thousands of communities. No real sense of customer service at all. Ignoring their grievances is kind of ignorant. Looks like they're from here: I'd love to see a phone with the top of the 5T, but the bottom of the 5, personally. How about some dual speakers one plus? Never seen flicker or color uniformity issues besides the color space thing.

When people look at a list of stuff, they don't scan the entire list before scrolling. They look and scroll as they keep going down the list. But for fullscreen stuff like videos, guess what?

Those software nav buttons disappear. You get the entire screen for your viewing pleasure. If you had hardware buttons, those buttons don't just scoot out of the way.

They're there til death do you part, and because your phone has hardware buttons, this means either A your phone is bigger than software-nav phones with the same screen size, or B your phone screen is smaller than software-nav phones of the same phone size to try to match the size of other phone competition.

The flexibility of software nav buttons plus the very miniscule "annoyance" of the space they take up when you're not viewing something fullscreen greatly surpasses the usefulness of hardware nav buttons.

Not to mention, hardware buttons can and will fail. One of the benefits of digital navigation bars is that there's an option to have buttons on the extreme sides that let you move one character right or left when using a keyboard, at least I could on my old CyanogenMod device.

If you're using Google keyboard, you can swipe slowly on the spacebar to move between characters with precision. Yes, but try moving it one letter to the left. I have yet to move the cursor directly to the intended spot on the first try once with that method.

I know it's possible, but the fastest method seems to be to overshoot and then come back. Having the little arrows to move the cursor is much faster for short distances, which I would think is by far the more common use case considering I would just tap the spot directly for longer distances.

Yeah, but this is all about making bezel-less phones, so you can't keep having the physical buttons without losing screen estate. I use both on my 3T. For example, it's nice to have some navigation available when in a full screen app without having to first slide a menu up.

Ideally, if I could get a programmable hardware gesture area ala palm pre, I'd be in heaven. Then I could use my full screen rather than rely on the wasted real-estate of fling. I used to think the same, but now that phones are going bezel-less and The screen itself is now replacing the space where the physical buttons used to be.

The biggest benefit I see of having on-screen buttons is being able to add more than three of them. Having a button always present to pull down the notification shade is dope. They disappear when not needed, such as full screen video or games.

Also Pie controls are a thing. Everyone always repeats this over and over but the reality is that I should be able to decide when they're not needed. Ah yes, I always buy my phones because they have ginormous bezels.

Wouldn't want buttons to get in the way of that Also, the position of that loss is fixed. So no matter what you're doing or what the screen orientation is, you got a bezel on the data-port-edge of the phone.

With on-screen buttons, you could enter immersive mode and turn the navigation buttons off entirely. Also, Android will automatically move the navbar out of the way during games or videos.

Moreover, as you rotate the screen, soft nav buttons could, in theory, travel to the edge of the screen that makes the most sense. As well, if Google finds a better way to handle navigation that doesn't require a fixed navbar on the bottom, they could push an update that makes them go away entirely.

That shit ain't possible with hardware capacitive buttons. Seems like as far as bezel-less Where it makes sense, they enable a near zero bezel experience. But only where it makes sense. All that aside, personally, I like having the button edge It's hard enough reaching the entire screen with bezels.

Without them, that bottom edge would be working overtime. That is while I'm not dropping the phone from trying to hit a button in the top left hand corner of the screen without my palm accidentally tapping the bottom.

Bezel-less phones are turning phone use into a game of Twister. I used to not like them but after getting used to them on my op3t I will be sad to see them go. Wish we were getting something in return other than screen real estate which will just be used by those on screen buttons.

How about some dual speakers one plus? Isn't that up to the users as some of them have to decide they're gonna maintain LOS for the 5T? I was thinking along the lines of, the OPO3?

But your concern makes sense to me. How do you know the 5t comes with Treble. It might ship with Nougat and get updated to Oreo later. Source for shipping with Nougat: Yeah I know it might but the guy I was responding to made it sound like treble support was definite.

I was under the impression it was clearly going to ship with Oreo. Just saw a contradictory rumor, so I can no longer make that assertion. Only in June of this year did OnePlus confirm it wouldn't get Nougat.

If you had to ask a OnePlus rep, they'd probably say there's less consumer interest in the 2 than the 3, but the same can be said of the 5. Considering that the 3 has a public Oreo beta right now and the 5 doesn't, concerns are justifiable.

I'd expect it to be on any OnePlus product. More like the S8. But on the other hand this could be the magic of the round corners. Which I would have prefered to be a hardware feature. I like the look of minimal bezels, but nobody has figured out how to get it done in a smaller form factor e.

Pixel 2 compared to the 2XL But I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with the next generation. But you're right, that seems to be the smallest phone out there with minimal bezels.

Unless you count the S8, which is the perfect width but way too tall. I hate software keys and front fp is much better EDIT: I have a s8 that's how I know I don't like them compared to previous phones I owned that had physical keys plus front fp.

That's how I can form my statement. I owned an s5 and OnePlus 3 before and I much prefer physical keys and fingerprint in front. Maybe you would change your mind if you had a phone with proper ergonomic scanner placement on the back?

That's the thing though, you shouldn't have to reach. I understand it is worse on a desk, but with a back sensor, when you pull it out of your pocket, it is unlocked by the time you can see the screen because your finger is naturally on the sensor.

In general, I agree with both of your preferences, but since the 5T screen will be I do like front fingerprint scanners better though. The increased battery consumption would be negligible, but I would definitely miss the front fp scanner.

Check my other comment. That's how I know I don't like them compared to my previous phones. Fair enough, personally I really like the back scanner, though the V30s placement is better than the S8s, as far as soft keys I can go either way, OP did have great capacitive keys though.

What's wrong with software keys? Especially since they move around well when the phone rotates. Most manufacturers are like: Lets make the phone AND screen bigger!

Essential did it first and almost the same and you got people complaining about the "stupid camera". The only reason for Plus it makes a sexier looking phone and more than ever OEMs need a selling point.

Last year was Camera. This year is Bezel to Screen ratio. I wouldn't say a taller phone makes it sexier, especially if there's a They would both have the same amount of sexiness.

Taller phones mean farther distances for your hand to reach if using one-handed. They're actually worse for one-hand usage. Looks like they're from here: Bought a Playstation, but I think it's broken.

It's nothing but bezels, I don't see a screen. Sound though, they've got that shit covered. Play Wolfenstein for a few hours and the PS4 engages "turbo fan mode". Hear that thing from the other side of the house.

Apparently i was bamboozled, they meant this AC. I think "HTC" is actually my most typed phrase in two years on reddit. You can see why. I think HTC just came out and said that the only reason the u11 doesn't have a bezel-less display is because unlike LG and Samsung they don't make their own displays so they had to wait until the displays were available.

Use of this site constitutes acceptance of our User Agreement and Privacy Policy. Log in or sign up in seconds. Submit a new post. The build quality of the phone was so poor the headphone jack was unusable after 3 months and the phone itself unusable after a little more than 4 months.

For most of that time I couldn't even get a customer service rep to acknowledge that there was any warranty beyond the 15 day return period. I was given irrelevant and incorrect information from support people who clearly knew little to nothing about smart phones.

Someone finally agreed that I could RMA my phone but stressed that if my completely unusable phone wasn't deemed defective by the service center I would have to pay for repairs or to have the phone shipped back to me as is.

After 6 weeks of not having my OP5 I got my phone back from the service center in Texas and it wasn't repaired properly. They certified that the motherboard, headphone jack and charger jack were all defective and replaced everything but didn't connect the display properly so there were green lines running through it after the phone was up and running for about a minute.

I contacted One Plus again since there was no way to directly contact the repair center. At first One Plus said that since the service center certified that my phone worked perfectly when they shipped it must have been damaged in transit so the warranty no longer applied.

The following day after much argument One Plus said I could go through the entire RMA process again from step meaning I would probably go another 6 weeks without my phone.

Assurant sent me a brand new replacement OP5 the next day. The headphone jack was unusable out of the box--headphone plugs just fell out of the jack. I just kept that phone anyway because I really couldn't take any more.

Then I had to deal with One Plus customer service again to transfer the remaining portion of the extended warranty to my replacement device. Something seemingly very simple turned into a similarly frustrating experience that took two weeks of dealing with One Plus to actually accomplish.

Assurant told me that since I was sent a new replacement phone a new month manufacturer's warranty went into effect for the device. One Plus refused to honor this and subtracted the months I had owned the original defective phone from the duration of the warranty.

OnePlus reached out to get more details about the experience, but Isaiah George did not get back to them. My 3t had broken and I had called Oneplus for 2 weeks every single day but they have given me the same damn reply to wait 24 to 48 hours for the company Acer to send me an email to send the shipping instructions to send it back to Oneplus.

I have had 2 Oneplus phones and was satisfied with the first but after the second it will be hard to convince me to buy another one after the terrible customer service.

As if the charger being unavailable for months wasn't bad enough, now they expect us to pay for shipping as well. They are also shady, they don't mention that they are actually going to charge in a foreign currency Yuan, and the website shows the price in USD.

When I brought it to their attention, they conveniently sent a link to their privacy notice on their website that mentions that the seller is based in Hong Kong, again no direct warning about the currency conversion.

Their customer support also isn't very good at understanding English and I lost well over an hour waiting for their response and explaining them again. In the end, she even disconnected the chat without any reason.

That's when the "Rate your customer service rep" button showed up and I gave a not happy rating. The chat rep immediately connected back and even asked why I gave an unsatisfied rating, and then said they will send me an email as a follow up.

I got an email two days later saying they can't waive the shipping fee and pointed to the privacy link I mentioned above. If this is how they treat customers now, I can only wonder how the service is going to be like if I have an issue with the phone.

I decided to never buy anything from them again, and discourage my friends from buying as well. I have been with this brand for quite some time now. My first one was OP2 inherited from a friend. A year later a bought the oneplus X, and now I own the OP5.

This phone is amazing in terms of the specs it offers and the price that is sell for. Secondly display and camera quality, something that I consider very carefully. I love that phone I love the way they put so much effort in creating great quality displays and outstanding cameras.

Great Great Camera, I can honestly say that this is one of the best cameras fiited onto smart phone. Good display, but I did expected higher resolution and slightly deeper blacks. Also regarding the display before OP5 came around I expected to see infinity display something other brands had on a market for couple of years.

That was a bit of let down, but I can live with it, no big deal. Another let down was that this phone is not water proof, some might say is not a big deal And since that phone has great camera why wouldn't I be able to use for underwater photography?

Processor, RAM, Interface etc. I will be extremely happy if I could be able to stay with this brand in the future as well. I hope the prices are not going to reach the skies. Something which I predict is coming around the corner,.

They have already managed to make a name for themselves in no time, and we all know what follows after I hope they will stay loyal to their fans and keep the prices down. Also I think OP should consider slowing down a bit.

One phone but an outstanding per year, would be a lot more better and a lot more worthy to everyone instead of 2 models per year. I am pretty sure 5T will follow in next couple of months with all of the above needed improvements that were mentioned So really if they listen to their fans they should consider that.

Maybe a bit of improvements in costumer service My very first OP5 which I bought in the very moment of its release date, got lost in the post, had to wait some time for refund, after endless phone calls and emails.

Anyways OP5 it's worth the money all the way. A great great handset which I really love, and I do hope I will be able to own a few more handset in the future; P. S That dash charger is a game changer It will be really practical to do this Categories Log in Sign up For companies.

An Oreo update may support Treble, but we don't know. Why can't any new phone launch with something not two versions behind I know there was some outrage a few months ago about that.

The one in your link looks the same as the post? That said, preferences are preferences. You cant win both. THey are just selling no furher support. Worst experience as a customer support.

OnePlus reached out to get more details about the experience, but Erhan Sozcu did not get back to them. Really happy with the phone. Also the order was proceeded very fast and delivered on time.

OnePlus reached out to get more details about the experience, which gowrav k now has provided. Worst experience with One plus 5 mobile bought in Sep, mobile has mother board problem, and i'm unable to take my data back up, Service centre: Joke of a website and company.

I felt tricked into the delivery charge, as free delivery was everywhere, I'll be homest I was not looking out for it, nor expecting it. I only noticed once I completed my order.

When paying such an amount for phone and accessories you expect free delivery as standard well I do! I highlighted this to OnePlus the second I noticed it, I emailed literally seconds following the order.

Offered no refund, no offer to change delivery, no solution offered what so ever. Was told how to cancel and reorder. I requested the delivery to be downgraded.

Very disappointed - I won't be reordering if this is how customer sercice works after a new customer highlights concerns. I'll be damned if I'm paying delivery that was shoehorned in on top.

Been using it for a couple of weeks now and it's performing brilliantly so far. OnePlus reached out to get more details about the experience, which Ram now has provided.

No real sense of customer service at all. Ordered phone nearly two weeks ago and no sign of it. Bought the 5t on November Sandstone case was unavailable on that day.

I figured no problem, I will order later. Now that it is, OnePlus is refusing to send me the case with free shipping. If this is the policy then so be it and I will return the phone as a matter of principle.

But what I would say to OnePlus is that common sense should prevail here. Customer service policies need to be more flexible. Open your eyes to how business is done and treat your customers with some respect.

OnePlus reached out to get more details about the experience, which jazz josan now has provided. When I did a follow up call to OnePlus the customer service support said they do not know where it is.

They cannot even confirm if they sent the phone to DHL or not. For the money I spent on my phone, I think it's insane that they cannot tell me where my phone is or when I will be getting it.

They also won't even allow me to cancel my order, so I am stuck in a limbo between incompetent services. This whole ordeal seems very suspicious, and I will reporting to the Better Business Bureau and other media outlets if a solution cannot be found.

They are ready to reply to a hundred emails to say No and not listen to the customer and fix their phone under warranty. Never experienced anything like this with Samsung or Apple for a decade, neither with CS, nor with how the phone let humidity happen.

Not even my old phones did that. My Oneplus One lasted 3 years before I bought 5T, without any drop in performance or any issues. I upgraded from One to 5T only because my wife wanted to gift me a new phone for Xmas.

If they keep making such sturdy, top-performing phones, I don't see myself buying another brand ever again. Site is easy to use for ordering as well! I broke my phone screen and I agreed with OnePlus an out of warranty repair at their service centre in Poland, at very competitive price.

UPS came to pick up my phone next day and I could track the device and I had visibility of each stage if the process through my online account. I got the phone back in less than two weeks with the screen fixed and latest android OS installed.

OnePlus reached out to get more details about the experience, but Laurence Wilson did not get back to them. Phone might be fine but customer service is the worst in the world. Rude, obtrusive, unhelpful and downright dishonest.

Having spent months dealing with them over a single issue, I won't ever get near them again. I have used many other brands for years, such as Apple and Huawei, but these brands don't have what it takes.

OnePlus is the best smartphone I have ever used. The 3T was very good and also the 5, and today I am ordering the 5T as soon as it's launched. OnePlus phones are probably the best phones you will find on the market.

Price and quality go hand in hand. I have convinced a lot of family members to buy a OnePlus, instead of high priced iPhones. OnePlus reached out to get more details about the experience, which Joe Smart now has provided.
