The Beast was horrifying in the original! I was awed by him as a child. This new interpretation is sulky and depressive as opposed to short-tempered and "Beastly". This has the unfortunate side-effect of making the enchantress appear randomly villainous as opposed to teaching the Beast a very serious lesson about life as she did in the original.
Competent, handsome Maurice engenders no sympathy and is a useless character without his technical ingenuity. Belle is the tinkerer this time around. Dad is just kind of there. Animated Maurice demonstrated the selflessness of a Father's love many times; something his live-action counterpart lacks as he blunders his way through each scene.
Belle was brave, intellectual, and independent in the original. The new film's feminist turbo-charged version is literally cringey. She doesn't even need the Beast or any man for that matter but falls in love with him anyway?
What a strange dichotomy. Emma Watson can't sing for expletive compared to Paige O'Hara. I guess they wanted an ardent feminist who incidentally has had everything handed to her since she was a child for the role no matter the cost.
Watson herself admitted that she would not have accepted the role unless this version of the film was a "feminist re-imagining". They should have cast Anne Hathaway--who can actually sing--instead.
She'd have made a much more convincing Belle than Watson's selfish, pouty, and indignant performance. Animated Belle's sacrifice is cheapened in this re-do when the Beast suggests that Belle take her father's place instead of Belle demonstrating her love and devotion towards her father.
In the original Disney film, Gaston visibly changes from a doofy pig literally! Luke Evans' singing falls miserably short of the booming, "center-of-the-chest" vocal-power that Richard White demonstrated in the animated classic.
The overtly apparent anti-gun propaganda intertwined with the character is obnoxious as well. Gaston was an agile hunter in the animated original, wherein the character is introduced as he shoots a duck out of the sky demonstrating his marksmanship and preferred past-time.
However, by the end of the original film, Gaston is physically grappling with the Beast armed with a dagger, and a bow and arrow. The lesson in this re-imagining is: Ewan McGregor's French accent is simply horrible.
The legs of his candelabra character in the new film are awkward as well. He humorously clunked around in the original take and the animators excellently conveyed a sense of motion and even dance animating just his round candle base.
The politically charged pro-transgender moment during the castle battle in the new film was so "on the nose" that it vies for "top cringe moment" against many others in the film. The humorous original take where the grey-bearded, pre-revolution era Frenchman was aghast to have been dressed up as Ariel a fun Little Mermaid Easter Egg by enchanted dresser, brush, and comb was charming and inoffensive to any rational human being.

I contacted Amazon and they offered me a refund, which is fine One time is fine but getting a defective device twice is not acceptable at all - I have packed the device and moved back to my iPhone 6 which is about 3.
I am not sure about the experience for other users, but please take out a moment to take a closer look at the rear camera set up and ensure there are no dust particles underneath - I read online on forums and if there are any dust particles, immediately go in for replacement as the problem is bound to increase.
